Police reported Monday afternoon that they arrested Robert E. Crimo III, a 22-year-old suspect in the shooting that left at least seven dead and more than 30 injured during a July 4th celebration in Highland Park, just outside Chicago, Illinois.
The motive behind the attack is unknown at this time. Crimo was charged Tuesday with seven counts of murder. Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart said the young man would be punished «for the murder spree he has unleashed on our community.»
Repeating the history of Uvalde, Texas

A month after the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, another similar incident occurred on the outskirts of Chicago when a 22-year-old man, identified as Robert E. Crimo, shot and killed at least seven people.
As happened in Texas, the authorities found the person responsible. Crimo was taken into custody, unlike Salvador Ramos, who was killed by police. Crimo opened fire in the middle of an Independence Day parade.
The victims looked like they’d been in a war

According to CNN, Dr. David Baum, who treated the victims of Highland Park shooting on Monday, July 4, described some of the horrific injuries he witnessed. Baum said some of those killed in the Highland Park shooting were «blown up.»
“[S]ome of the bodies, they had an evisceration wound from the power of this gun and the bullets. There was another person who had an excruciating head wound. Indescribable.» Robert E. Crimo III was identified by police as the person suspected of shooting and killing seven people and injuring dozens more at the parade.
Two Victims Were Parents of 2-Year-Old

The Highland Park shooting was sheer chaos. Two of the victims of Highland Park massacre include a married couple in their 30s who left behind a 2-year-old son. The little boy was found covered in blood, under his dead father’s body during the madness.
Irina McCarthy, 35, and her husband Kevin McCarthy, 37, were at the parade with their young son Aiden when a gunman disguised in women’s clothing opened fire at the July 4th celebration, turning the typically light-hearted event into a blood-soaked nightmare, authorities said.
Toddler left orphaned

The pair were among seven innocent people shot dead during the massacre. According to The Sun, a two-year-old boy, Aiden, was orphaned. He was comforted by strangers in the wake of his parents’ tragic death. The boy was separated from his parents after another couple rescued him during the chaos.
Aiden was discovered under the body of his father who was murdered by Robert Crimo. Irina’s friends created a GoFundMe page in honor of the boy. The page raised more than $1 million on Tuesday.
